In the city of Pécs, traditional glove making has a history stretching back more than 150 years.
Bishop’s Palace and the Secret Passage
King St. Stephen established a bishopric in 1009, Pécs. But the church burned to the ground on that memorable night when King Solomon and Prince Géza made peace.
The modern lapidary is the work of Kossuth prizewinning architect Zoltán Bachman. Several stone sculptures of the Árpád Era are exhibited here as well as a unique church decoration.
One of the most popular permanent exhibition of the Janus Pannonius Museum presents some of the most significant artworks of the Hungarian painting scene's solitary giant, Tivadar Kosztka Csontvary (1853-1919).
