The work Genesis I by István Bencsik, Kossuth and Príma Prize-winning sculptor, depicts a gigantic thumb on Jókai Square. Opinions on the marble sculpture are very divided, with one typical opinion being that "this is not art" and others that such a large thumb is no longer considered tasteful. In any case, it has been part of Jókai Square for many years. Likewise, a similar thumb from Bencsik's Genesis series can be seen on the Tetty; there the thumb is facing downwards.
