Uránia Cinema

History

An original Bauhaus building. Károly Weichinger utilised his American experience in architecture when designing the Urania Cinema, which was the most modern movie theatre of the country in 1935.

The seccos decorating its walls were made by Ernő Gebauer. They depict the symbols of the art of performance, dancing and music. It operated as a venue for concerts, but today it functions as a premiere cinema.
