University of Pécs - Faculty of Music and Visual Arts

The campus area is located on the other side of Route 6. Already in the earlier life of the Zsolnay Factory, this area was cut off from the central production site by the main road.

Materials and production equipment were transported back and forth in the tunnel under the road. The bridge connecting the university and the Zsolnay Quarter was opened in 2011 and has become a symbol of the area. During the renovation, the austere industrial buildings were converted into public education facilities. The former warehouses and clay storehouses of the University of Pécs house the Department of Communication and Media Studies and the Institute of Fine Arts and Music. The University Library is housed in four huge kilns and firing preparation rooms, while the Janus University Theatre uses the insulation and processing hall.

How to get there

From the Main Railway Station and from the bus stop of the Fairgrounds you can get there by buses 4 and 4Y, and then get off at the Zsolnay Quarter stop. Parking is available in the car park of the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter.
