Statue of the Holy Trinity

History

Following the example of Emperor Leopold I, a Holy Trinity statue was erected on the main square of Pécs commemorating the victims of the Plague.

The work of sculptor György Kiss is the third monument on the same site, and is only 100 years old. On its ledge can be seen the three plague-saints, Roch, Sebastian and Rosalie. At the foot of the obelisk, covered by clouds, sit the figures of the Holy Father and Son. Its top is crowned by a Holy Spirit dove surrounded by golden rays of light.
