History
Stone piled upon stone can be found here. Among them are the coat of arms that at one time adorned the gate-tower of the Bishop’s Palace, several stone sculptures from the Tettye summer residency of the Bishop of Szatmár, as well as the stones of Márévár. Márévár was first mentioned in a written record in 1316. At the beginning of the 16th century it was reinforced and reconstructed in Renaissance style. An exhibition has been set up in the renovated parts.
