Renaissance Lapidary

The Renaissance Stone Garden in the garden of the Zsolnay Museum presents the Renaissance architecture of Pécs and its surroundings through original carved stones and reconstructions. The exhibition includes stone carvings of the former beauty of the summer palace of Bishop György Szatmári in Tettye, finds from the Renaissance palace excavated in the course of the Maré vár excavations (window frames, doors, ornate stone frames). The exhibition also presents a reconstruction of the palace with drawings. In the Stone Gallery you can see window and door openings and coats of arms from Pécs and its surroundings from the 15th and 16th centuries.
