Orfű Mill Museum

The mill itself was a miracle for the man of centuries past, as it used its fiendish devices to conjure the flour of life from the grain. You can experience this in Orfù at the Mill Museum, where you can learn about the workings of several types of mills - a water mill, a dry mill and oil mill, once driven by horses, and a paper mill.

The miller's summer kitchen oven is still in use today, baking sourdough and hand-kneaded bread from spring to autumn. The programme includes a guided tour of the mills and their history and operation, partly interactive and lasting about 60 minutes. The mill tour is fun for adults and children alike, but it does require some attention to ensure safety and the preservation of the equipment. Mill tours start at guaranteed times, even for single visitors!

June: Monday - Friday 10.30, 13.30 and 15.00; Saturday - Sunday 10.30, 12.00, 13.30, 15.00, 16.30.
July / August: Monday - Sunday 10.00 - 17.00 every hour.
September: Tuesday - Friday 13.30 and 15.00; Saturday - Sunday at 10.30, 12.00, 13.30, 15.00, 16.30.
October / November: Wednesday - Friday 13.30; Saturday - Sunday 13.30, 15.00.
December / January / February: the museum is closed.
