The fate of the gallery, which was opened in 2009 in the former hostel building, was in doubt for a long time after it had no permanent owner. The collaboration between the PTE Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Medicine has revived the long-standing but ill-fated Nádor Hotel, where the jointly run gallery has been open to visitors since spring. Next year, the renovated building will host exhibitions and other events.
The original plan was to create and maintain a gallery primarily for students and staff of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Medicine, but it has since evolved into a community space, with the aim of reaching out to the city's residents as well as students, as the Nádor is in the public interest in Pécs.
