History
The former pioneer railway survived the change in regime.
The inauguration of the narrow-gauge railway of the Mecsek, consructed by volunteers, was in 1962, as part of the annual August 20 St. Stephen’s Day celebrations (now the celebration of New Bread and the Constitution). A mere 570 metres long, it is Hungary’s shortest railway. It has only two stops, the Zoo and Dömörkapu.
